Banque du Caire, Telda connect prepaid Mastercard to InstaPay

· Egyptian market news · ARAB

Banque du Caire and Egypt-based fintech Telda have enabled users to link the Telda card to InstaPay, making it the first prepaid Mastercard in Egypt to support integration with the instant payments application.

The feature allows Telda customers to transfer money through InstaPay to mobile numbers, bank accounts, bank cards, electronic wallets, and Instant Payment Addresses (IPAs).

Mohamed Tharwat, Head of Retail Banking at Banque du Caire, said the integration gives Telda customers access to the Instant Payment Network and provides greater flexibility when making daily transfers.

He added that combining banking and technological capabilities is central to developing digital financial services. Banque du Caire will continue introducing services designed to simplify transactions, widen access to digital payments, and support financial inclusion.

The initiative also aligns with the Egyptian government’s and the Central Bank of Egypt’s plans to develop an integrated digital payments ecosystem and broaden public access to financial services.

Ahmed Sabbah, CEO and Co-founder of Telda, said the new feature brings the card’s services together with the Instant Payment Network, giving users another way to manage their funds and complete digital transfers.

He added that the partnership demonstrates how banks and fintech companies can work together to address changing user needs. Telda is expanding its platform to cover money management, payments, transfers, and expense tracking in one place.

The integration combines Banque du Caire’s banking capabilities, Telda’s technology, and InstaPay’s national instant payments infrastructure as both companies seek to support Egypt’s shift toward greater use of digital payments.
