AM Best affirms Misr Life Insurance's financial strength rating at B++ ahead of IPO

AM Best has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of Misr Life Insurance Company at B++ (Good), with a stable outlook for the ninth consecutive year, according to a press release.
The global credit rating agency also confirmed the company's Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating at "bbb" and its Egypt National Scale Rating (NSR) at "aaa.EG" (Exceptional).
The ratings highlight the company’s strong balance sheet, solid operating performance, disciplined risk management framework, and strategic importance within Misr Insurance Holding Company.
Misr Life maintained its strongest level of risk-adjusted cap at the end of 2025, supported by a solid capital base, prudent investment management, and a diversified investment portfolio, AM Best noted.

The announcement comes as the company advances towards the anticipated initial public offering (IPO), reinforcing its financial position and its role as a key contributor to the development and modernization of Egypt's financial services and insurance sectors.
Misr Life remains Egypt's largest life insurer, holding an estimated 30% share of total net insurance premiums. In 2025, the company reported a 28.7% return on equity (ROE), supported by growth in its Contractual Service Margin (CSM) under Egyptian Accounting Standard No. 50 (EAS 50), alongside strong investment returns.
