Settlement is when the buyer’s cash and the seller’s shares actually change hands after a trade is executed. On the Egyptian Exchange most equities settle on a T+2 basis — two business days after the trade date — while some instruments settle same-day (T+0). Until settlement completes, the shares are pending in the buyer’s account.
